Santa

We had a fun little family outing today.
First, we took Remi to the "Ming Plaza" (that's what Aaron likes to call it)
to see Santa Claus.
Then we stopped at AT&T cause Jeff broke his phone
(I think he did it on purpose)
and he had to have an iphone.
(he did it on purpose!)
It's pretty freakin sweet! I wouldn't mind having one for myself!
And then we ended our day at Chili's for some lunch!
It was a great day and we had so much fun!

I got a recipe for Chicken and Dumplings from
Glamorous Housewife.
It was seriously so easy and so delicious!

4 skinless, boneless, chicken breast

2-3 (10.75 oz) cans of cream of chicken soup

2 tablespoon of butter

2 packages of refrigerated rolls or biscuits, cut into pieces

Place the chicken, soup, and butter into a crockpot, fill with water until covered. Cover and cook on high for 5-6 hours or until the chicken is done.

About an hour before serving place the rolls/biscuits into the crockpot, cover, and cook until dough is no longer raw in the middle.

*I used pillsbury refrigerated biscuits instead of rolls

Thanksgiving

We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, we sure did!
On Thanksgiving day we went to my friend Heather's parents house.
They were the closest I could get to being with my family,
they had some Mormon folk and some not
and they all made fun of each other!
It was fun times!

Beach Trip

We decided to take a little family trip to pismo beach on Friday. It was warm, I think warmer than Bakersfield. But it was beautiful and we didn't want to come home. Remi loved it! Here are a couple pictures of the weekend.

Oh Captain My Captain

It's official, Jeff passed the Captain's Test! He worked very hard and I am so proud of him! We are glad to have him back, it was really starting to affect me. I was having dreams about him reading me fire material!!! Whoa! Kinda crazy!
He is now placed on a Captain's list and as Captain's retire they pull from the list. He is #5. So it might be a while before he actually gets promoted.

4 Weeks Old

I can't believe my baby is already 4 weeks old. It seems like she was just born yesterday. She's growing out of the newborn stage and into a baby, it makes me sad. I want her to stay little forever! She's outgrowing some of her 0-3 month clothes already. What's that about?

I love her so much it makes me crazy!

Sometimes I look at her and can't believe she's mine. I don't have to give her back to her Mom cause I'm her Mom. She's mine forever. I've waited a long time for her and I'm so happy she's here.

Jeff took the Captain's test last Monday and he found out today that he PASSED!!!
CONGRATULATIONS
There's 3 parts to the Captain's test
- a written test
- a simulator
and
- an oral interview
He has the simulator and the interview to go before he can be Captain
So wish him luck!

A Day to Remember

Well its official! Abby and I welcomed into the world a beautiful baby girl named Remi Kimiko Spina. She came at 12:36am Sunday morning weighing 6lbs 14oz and 18.75 inches long. She's a petite little thing and absolutely perfect. Speaking personally that couple minutes during the actual birth were beyond words. I felt so many emotions all at once it was nearly overwhelming. First was the love, falling in love the minute I saw her. Then I look at Abby and feel so proud of her. BTW.....She did an amazing job! The woman was born to be a mommy. Finally in the midst of all the emotions I felt a sense of responsibilty. To love and look over her and protect her from all the evils in the world. All the calls from family and friends were appreciated dearly. We have great family and great friends. We got home today from the hospital and are quite tired but honestly we cant stop smiling. We just stare at her and wonder what she's thinking. Thanks again for all the love! Abby will be uploading pics on a regular basis so stay tuned.

Happy 2 Years

2 Years ago today Jeff and I met... It's a funny story!
I was living with my BFF Kim (and her family) at the time. She had just got home from running some errands and told me to hurry and get dressed cause she wanted to take me to the Fire Station where her husband was working overtime; they had someone they wanted me to meet. So we went over to the station, and there he was sitting at the table in his fireman shorts and sweatshirt! I thought he was cute and nice. He didn't seem too interested, it seemed I was just another girl to him. He was 33 years old, he'd met enough girls and was perfectly content with being single for the rest of his life (little did he know he just met the love of his life).
A few days later he left for Costa Rica for a few weeks and I probably didn't hear from him for about a month after we first met. He finally calls and we chatted, getting to know each other a bit over the phone. We go on a date, dinner at Tokyo Garden and back to his house to watch a movie. Dinner was good. He was a Gentlemen (and still is) and opened all the doors for me! He was kinda touchy-feely... I don't like to be touched! And he called me Babe! Maybe he forgot my name?
We go back to his house to watch a movie and holy crap...literally! I totally got the "ria" from eating at Tokyo Garden. I couldn't go "ria" at his house on our first date. Are you kidding me? So I held it and got the worst stomach ache ever and totally fell ASLEEP on his couch!
I must have been really fun at dinner cause he called me again! I couldn't believe it!
I'm sure it was his best first date ever!

I want to be skinny

Is it time to birth this child yet? Cause I'm really wanting to wear cute clothes again. I went to Target today and for some stupid depressing reason I wandered through the clothes section.

I WANTED TO BUY EVERYTHING!
Maybe it was just me not wanting to not wear maternity clothes anymore, but I thought everything was soooo cute! I couldn't stand it, I had to force myself to stop looking. I could have loaded up my cart with all kinds of cute things!

It made me sad and it made me want to ask my Dr at my appt tomorrow if he would please just take this little baby out of me already. You think he'd go for it? Maybe I could make him some cookies or brownies or maybe I will just cry and he will feel sorry for me.

MMR

In case anyone is interested CNN reported on September 3rd that the MMR shot does not cause Autism.

We met Dr Shah (the Pediatrician) today and we really liked him and his staff was really nice. We thought his office could be a little nicer but I'd rather have a really good Dr with an ok office than a crappy Dr with a really nice office. And I've heard really good things about him.

The Baby's Room

My BFF gave us her baby furniture, it's still in really
great shape after 3 boys! She saved us a ton of money
and we owe her big time

I know... the letters are crooked and not centered on the wall.
Jeff has to fix it, you get the idea though!

Vaccinations?

I'm really nervous about Remi getting her vaccination's when she's a baby, I would rather wait until she's a few years old. Are there some vac's that she absolutely needs to have right away? If so, which ones are they? (I'm already worrying about the little girl and she's not even here yet... but I'd rather be safe than sorry).
So I need some advice from the Mother's out there... Did you get your baby's vaccination's right away or did you wait until they were older?

Any additional Motherly advice you would like to give would be appreciated.

Remi's Bedding

Here's the deal...
My SIL is an amazing photographer and I want her to come out in October and take pictures of Remi and maybe do some family photos also (depending on how fat I am after I pop this baby out). But before I try to talk Grant and Kelly into coming out I thought I would see if some other people would like Kelly to take their family photos also. That way I can really make it worth their while to come out here. Not only will they get to see Remi but they can make some money too! You could have some great photos to send out with your Christmas Cards! So if anyone is interested let me know.
Grant stains garage floors, if anyone is interested in having him do that let me know. I am!
I think this is a great idea and I'm really hoping they go for it!

It's Almost Time

I love my Birthday! I get so excited about it!
I should probably stop getting excited about it since I'm getting older not younger.
One year closer to 30! AHHHH!!! Only 3 more years to go. AHHHH!!!

And they are...

1. She won't be sitting on my nerve causing me discomfort
2. I can snuggle her whenever I want
   
3. My leg & foot will be back to normal

5. She will be so much fun
6. We will really know what we're in for
7. And because we have both wanted this for a really long time
8. Oh and I won't have to wear maternity clothes anymore

I enjoy being pregnant, really I do. But I miss having a waist
and wearing regular clothes.
Maternity clothes are just really not attractive, comfortable but not attractive!
If I was rich than I could handle it but I'm not so I'm kinda over it.

Remi's had the hiccups like 3 or 4 times now, funny feeling.
She loves it when I eat peanut butter m&m's! Addicted thanks to my sister.
I can see my tummy move when she's adjusting in her cocoon.
I have dreams that she's beautiful.
I have dreams that she comes out with Jeff's face
his 35 yr old face not his baby face!
And I have dreams that I snuggle her and cry cause I love her so much!
Only 10 more weeks and our lives will be changed forever!
We can't wait! Are we crazy?

The Grant Family visit

My sister and her family came down to visit a a few days this last week. We had so much fun, at least I did! We swam a lot, played in the backyard, ate some delicious food, played Wii, went to the "Ming Plaza" (Aaron's favorite place), and Jeff took us all for a ride on the Fire Truck.
Even though we were wore out especially my dogs, I didn't want the Grants to leave. I hate it when I have to say bye to my sister. I always cry and get depressed for a couple days. I wish you would just move across the street so we could hang out all the time! I love you!

We have our 4D Ultrasound tomorrow! We are so excited! I will be sure to post pictures of baby remi as soon as possible!

Congrats to my Mikie for becoming the new bass player in Cub Country! Don't be fooled, it's not a country band! Mikie didn't turn cowboy on us! We will definitely have to come up for one of your shows! They have some music on iTunes but it's before Mikie joined so I'm sure it's not as good as it is now!

I only have 8 more weeks before I go on maternity leave! I'm soooo excited!

Crib Set

I can't seem to sell this crib set on Ebay! So if you or anyone you know is interested in buying it let me know. I'd be more than happy to sell it to you! It's the Pottery Barn Hayden Quilt and Bumper in Navy Blue, Brown, Tan & White. I'm asking $60 for both items.

I have it recorded

Jeff bought a motorcycle due to the outrageous gas prices we are dealing with and plus he practically works in China or you could call it Mexico because of the people!
We will be saving money however, I will be worried every time he leaves the house on this thing. Jeff has promised me that he will only ride the motorcycle to and from work and to run some errands like getting his hair cut. It's not for fartin' around with the boys or going to band practice or things of that nature. If there is there will be no more motorcycle!

HIJACKED BLOG!!!!!!!!!!!

While we're trying to nurse Abby back from the flu i thought i would post a blog about my band and all the exciting stuff going on. We're getting big gigs ( for Bakersfield) with touring bands such as Lee Rocker, The Legendary Shack Shakers, Guttermouth, and this weekend with Big John Bates and the Voodoo Dollz. All the members have families and careers so none of us are looking to "make it big" which makes it all the more fun. We're even selling t-shirts now! Check them out here. I have played music for a very long time and this band has been the most fun by far. Thanks to my loving and understanding wife im able to further enjoy my passion....music.
